This year, Central Texas Electric Cooperative (CTEC) is offering twenty-five $1,000 college scholarships, bringing the combined amount of financial help awarded to area students over the program’s 24-year history to $639,000. Completed scholarship applications must be in the Fredericksburg CTEC office by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 26th.
In order to be eligible, applicants must attend a recognized Texas institution of higher education in the fall 2021 semester and be considered a full-time student. Applicants must also be active members, or immediate family, whose primary residence is served by CTEC. This means the electric service must be in the name of the applicant or the applicant’s parent or guardian. A scholarship selection committee, appointed by the Board of Directors of Central Texas Electric Cooperative, will choose candidates and alternates for the 25 scholarships to be awarded.
These scholarships are not just for high school students, but any individuals who are furthering their education. Applications are available at many area high schools where CTEC has meters as well as at all CTEC offices. It can also be downloaded from the co-op’s website at <ctec.coop>.
