The Richland Springs Lady Coyotes continue to sail through District play with an impressive 6-0 lead in District 17. Over the past several weeks, the Lady Coyotes have outscored their opponents by an average of 38.2 points and maintained a scoring average of 61.4 points per game.
With only seven players on the roster, consisting of four freshman and three juniors, the Lady Coyote's success comes from all over the court. With a different leading scorer from night to night, the versatile Lady Coyotes have been a dominant force throughout District.
Nothing changed for the Lady Coyotes on Friday, January 22nd, as they defeated the Lometa Lady Hornets 57-23 to earn their 6th district win.
Freshman Ryleigh Bryant led the Lady Coyotes in scoring by dropping in 23 points. Following Ryleigh Bryant, Junior Brynlii Chandler finished the game with 10 points and added to the Lady Coyotes success by leading the team in assists. More impressive stats came by freshman Hailee Mack who pulled 11 rebounds and dropped in 8 points.
Also scoring were junior Piper Moats and freshman Raegan Wright who both contributed 8 points to help secure the win. Moving forward in District play and hoping to improve their record to 7-0, the Lady Coyotes will face the Cherokee Lady Indians on Tuesday, January 26th, in Cherokee at 6:00 p.m.
