Due to the health and safety of San Saba residents, especially the children, the San Saba County Ministerial Alliance recently met and opted to not participate in Santa’s Workshop this year. However, they wanted to continue giving to the community and our children but in a different manner. With that said, we are reminded to remember the true reason for Christmas.
First, the Alliance continues giving through their annual Christmas Voucher program. The Christmas vouchers will be distributed to residents of San Saba County on December 9th at the Civic Center in coordination with the Food Pantry. The vouchers will be good for $15 at Lowe’s Grocery for meat, eggs, milk or bread.
Next, the Alliance is giving with a Christmas Gift Bag giveaway for the children on Saturday, December 12th, from 6-8 p.m. First, enjoy the dancing lights at Mill Pond Park, then exit onto Commerce and the parking lot at The Father’s House Youth Center where gift bags will be distributed.
This being the season for giving and the reminder of the “Reason for the Season,” the San Saba Community was blessed to receive a generous donation from a business/individual of an exclusive 59” tall Nativity Set, representing both. Mr. Heath Eckermann of TexAir kindly donated this gorgeous addition to our town. With agreements by the City of San Saba, the Economic Development Corporation and the County, this amazing Nativity Scene was placed on the Courthouse lawn for all to ADORE.
