Conozca al Maestro en SSMS
We are excited to announce we will still be hosting "Meet the Teacher" at SSMS on August 18, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There are some changes due to COVID-19. Please come enjoy our community!!!
Time Slots:
● 5th and 7th Grade: 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm
● 6th and 8th Grade: 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm
● All visitors will be required to leave promptly at the end of their session.
General Requirements:
● We can not guarantee that individuals will be six feet apart at all times.
● 5th and 6th graders will enter the building from the entrance closest to Wallace Street.
● 7th and 8th graders will enter the building from the entrance closest to Commerce Street.
● Parents/guardians who need to register their student(s) will enter the building through the foyer.
● Only students who are going to attend SSMS and their parents/guardians will gain access to SSMS.
● All individuals will be required to wear a face covering.
What should students bring to "Meet the Teacher"?

What should I expect to receive?
● Registered students will receive their schedule.
● Locker Assignment
● Opportunity to meet excited teachers who are eager to start educating students
Registration Information:
● To participate in "Meet the Teacher," the student must be registered.
● We will have two computers set-up for registration.
● If parents/guardians plan on registering their student at this time, please be prepared to have longer than expected wait time.
● Depending on the registration process, parents/guardians/students may miss their opportunity to meet their excited teacher.
Remote Learners Information:
● Laptop pickup will occur in the hallway of their grade level. – Example: 7th grader will pick up their laptop in the 7/8th grade hallway at 2:00 p.m. on August 18, 2020.
● Remote learning students will not be allowed to pick up their SSISD laptop if they have not registered and completed the Commitment Form.
● If a student has not turned in their technology equipment from last year, they will not be issued an additional computer or hotspot.

Estamos muy contentos de anunciar que todavía seremos anfitriones de "Conozca al Maestro" en SSMS el 18 de agosto de 2020 de 2:00 pm a 4:00 pm. Hay algunos cambios debido a COVID-19. ¡Ven a disfrutar de nuestro complejo!
Ranuras de tiempo:
● 5th y 7th grado: 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm

● Se requerirá que todos los visitantes se vayan de inmediato al final de su sesión.
Requerimientos generales:
● No podemos garantizar que las personas estén separadas por dos metros en todo momento.
● Los estudiantes de quinto y sexto grado entrarán al edificio por la entrada más cercana a Wallace Street.
● Los estudiantes de séptimo y octavo grado ingresarán al edificio por la entrada más cercana a Commerce Street.
● Los padres/tutores que necesiten registrar a su (s) estudiante (s) ingresarán al edificio a través del vestíbulo.
● Solo los estudiantes que van a asistir a SSMS y sus padres / tutores tendrán acceso a SSMS.
● Todas las personas deberán usar una cubierta facial.

¿Qué debo esperar recibir?
● Los estudiantes registrados recibirán su horario.
● Asignación de casilleros
● Oportunidad de conocer a maestros entusiasmados que están ansiosos por comenzar a educar a los estudiantes.
Información de Registro:
● Para participar en "Conozca al Maestro," el estudiante debe estar registrado.
● Tendremos dos computadoras configuradas para el registro.
● Si los padres/tutores planean inscribir a su estudiante en este momento, esté preparado para tener un tiempo de espera más largo del esperado.
● Dependiendo del proceso de registro, los padres/tutores/ estudiantes pueden perder la oportunidad de conocer a su maestro emocionado.
Información para estudiantes remotos:
● La recolección de la computadora portátil ocurrirá en el pasillo de su nivel de grado.
– Ejemplo: el estudiante de 7th grado recogerá su computadora portátil en el pasillo de 7th/8th grado a las 2:00 p.m. el 18 de agosto de 2020.
● Los estudiantes de aprendizaje remoto no podrán recoger su computadora portátil del SSISD si no se han registrado y completado el Formulario de compromiso.
● Si un estudiante no ha entregado su equipo tecnológico del año pasado, no se le entregará una computadora o un punto de acceso adicional.
