The Bend News

This may be the last time you will be able to see the Bend News as no one is emailing or calling in anything to print. If there is nothing in the paper, do not call the paper as they have nothing to do with this column. This is your news from Bend, and if you want to keep it in print, wake up and call or email. It has been fun!

A big mystery was solved this past week. Someone had been putting garbage in the trash containers that were at the end of County Road 426. Well, it turns out some new people had moved in nearby and thought the containers were for everyone who lived off of 426. They now know differently and will have containers by their entrance instead of 426.

I wish to thank Bonnie Millican for all the articles; she was so good to email all the news of her family. If it wasn’t for her, there would be nothing to write about.

Bonnie Millican reported that she missed sending the info concerning VBS at the Bend Methodist Church. There will be no VBS as they have had in the past because of the virus, but packets will be delivered or sent to the homes for your children to have.

Bonnie reported that if you live in a one-mile radius of Bend and you would like to hear the Sunday sermon, you can tune into FM 88.9 at 9:00 a.m. and listen. The church will even let you have a church hymnal so you can fully participate from the safety of your vehicle. She reported that it is working so far.

Geoffrey and Lindsay Millican and the boys came for a visit this past weekend for the first visit to the ranch since February. The boys enjoyed fishing, throwing rocks and swimming. Henry celebrated his 10th birthday last Wednesday. One of his gifts from his grandparents was a slingshot (with the permission of his parents). Henry loved it!

Targets were set up, and he got to practice a little. He is no Daniel Boone, but he still had fun. Paul Strouhal dropped by Sunday and had lunch before going on to Midland. It was a nice little extra visit with him.

Remember to celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday, June 21. Make it something special for your dad.
