These are tough times. With some businesses still closed and others with limited operations, many people are feeling the pinch. Several folks have reached out to San Saba County Friends of Animals because they are having a hard time properly caring for their family pets, and we want to help.

We have started a new program called “Family Pets – Stay Home, Stay Safe.” Under this program, funded by a $1,500 grant from the Pedigree Foundation and a matching donation from one of our supporters, we offer assistance to San Saba County residents and their pets in various ways. For example, if a family needs dog or cat food, we can help. If a pet’s vaccinations have come due, or if a pet is ready to be spayed or neutered, but the family just can’t meet that expense right now, we can help with that, too. We have carriers and crates and puppy pens to lend out on a temporary basis. There may be other ways we can assist.

If you are needing some help for your pet, please call or text 720-849-4201, or leave a message on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/SanSabaCountyFriendsofAnimals) with your name, phone number, and a good time to reach you. (Please note – if you are needing any kind of help with a vet bill, you must contact us before you take your pet in so we can prepare a voucher.) All requests will be considered, and we will keep running this program as long as funds are available.

In these difficult times, we want to help keep as many pets as possible out of the shelter and safe at home with their families. Please let us know if we can do that for your pet.
