Rain did fall again this past week, and more is expected Monday either late in the afternoon or night. Update - 4:30 p.m...a light shower fell. It really doesn’t matter what time of the day or night, just so that is does rain. Get ready for the pesky mosquitoes, because you just bet they will be plentiful this summer because of all the rain. Make sure you pour out any rain water that is standing in any kind of container.

There has been no news to write about this week. So you won’t have to strain your eyes reading the news.

Still have ill ones who need to be on your prayer list: Phil B. and Winnie Lou McCoury, Earl Ray Sutton who has health problems, Pete Henniger and his family as he is fighting cancer, Charlene Reavis who is grieving the loss of her husband Jerry, and Jane Clark who has some health problems.

If you have a loved one or a friend in the nursing home, give them a call, as they are beginning to really feel bad because no one, not even family, can pay them a visit. If you can’t call, just drop them a card letting them know you are thinking about them, anything to brighten their day. They cannot meet in the dinning room to play Bingo, which just happens to be one of their fun things to do.

If you know of someone who is a resident and you don’t have their phone number, you might call the nursing home and ask them to have your friend call you. Everyone in the nursing home has a phone in their room, so they will be able to call you. Then you can get their phone number.

They have satellite phones, so use your cell phone to call. That way you won’t be charged a long distant call. If you call on your home phone, you will be charged for a long distant call. No cell phone, write a card, or better yet, a letter. Make someone’s day! Happy belated birthday wishes goes out to Colby James Hunt who celebrated his birthday May 28, to Anthony Henniger who celebrated his birthday May 29, and to Karis Hicky who celebrated a birthday June 1.

Happy birthday wishes goes out to Josh McCoury and Malese Martinez who will be celebrating a birthday June 5, to Earl Ray Sutton who will be celebrating a birthday June 6, and to Kansandra Burish who will be celebrating her birthday June 7.
