Due to Corona health guidelines, our annual meeting and 50th homecoming scheduled for April 25, 2020, will not be held this year. Your contributions would be appreciated and will be used to maintain the cemetery and church building. Your contribution should be mailed to Colony Memorial Cemetery 1777 CR 1750 Lometa,Texas 76853. Stay healthy and come to the meeting next year on the last Saturday in April 2021.

The 49th annual meeting was April 27, 2019. Approximately 23 adult members and 3 children were present.

Bob Millican called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon. He explained that the grass had not been mowed because of the wildflowers. If the flowers are mowed, there are no seeds for next year.

The minutes were approved and a financial report was given by Warren Spivey. Two bank accounts are at City National Bank at San Saba with checking and savings accounts. The perpetual fund that is with Oppenheimer has been purchased by Invesco. This fund has been drawing interest that is deposited into the checking account at San Saba.

Old Business:

There was no old business discussed, so the meeting went into new business that was discussed at length.

New Business:

Vicki Stevenson brought up the matter of the headstones needing to be fixed in the cemetery. Both funeral homes have promised to fix them, but neither has gotten back with her about it. C. K. Stevenson said that he and Ken Means will soon repair the headstones.

Vicki also thought the falling ceiling tiles need to be fixed. A short discussion followed, and Bob Millican said he would look into getting the tiles and finding a carpenter to do the work.

Mark Smith, Methodist pastor from San Saba, gave the prayer before the meal.

Lunch was enjoyed by all.

New business:

2020 The account with Invesco has been closed, and a CD was purchased at City National Bank at San Saba. The CD insures that the funds are safe and will continue to draw interest.
