County Judge’s Update

I want to begin my remarks by commending you for your efforts to reduce COVID-19’s impact on our communities. And although most of you have made the necessary changes to your lives and your activities, I ask you to please intensify your commitment to:

• Practice Social Distancing and Avoid All Physical Gatherings

• Shop Locally, Alone, and Only When Essential

• Avoid ALL Unnecessary Travel

• Stay Home and Stay Safe Although this virus has the potential to be a disaster, unlike most other natural disasters, we have the ability to significantly reduce its intensity and path. But, we must stay the course.

So far we have not had any confirmed COVID-19 cases in our communities. But really, I believe that is a little too optimistic. We just have not had many individuals with severe enough symptoms to be tested and confirmed as COVID-19. Please remember that most people present with mild symptoms. I feel to prepare you that it is only a matter of time before we too will have confirmed cases. When that occurs, I fervently pray that we will each be supportive and kind to those that are suffering. Suffering may be universal, but how we react is individual. Let us be kind, and let us continue to press forward with confidence having a perfect hope in Christ. For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

To brighten our dispositions, we have only to look to Kathleen Hawkins and the Keep San Saba Beautiful Organization. You guys are an inspiration. THANK YOU !!!!
