Mason - San Saba • March 19, 2020
Receipts totaled 1,528 head. The markets continued to be very volatile this week with the coronavirus issues across the nation and the oil dispute between Russia and Saudi Arabia. The stocker steers and heifers sold $10 lower. The feeder market was not tested due to the limited numbers of heavy weight cattle at the sale this week. Packer bulls were $3 higher and cows were $5-$10 higher with the top cow $78.00 at 1,420 lbs ($1,107.60). Good pairs were active with the better young pairs ranging from $1,400 up to $2,100. The better young bred cows sold from $1,200 up to $1,575. Open heifers going back to the country ranged from $800 up to $1,800 depending on kind and size.
