San Saba High School forms new Art Club

San Saba High School is excited to announce a new Art Club for the 2026–2027 school year. The club will give students the opportunity to explore their creativity, work on projects outside of class, and support the school’s art program through activities, events, and community involvement.

In addition to launching the club, several San Saba High School artists have earned notable statewide recognition. The Art Club President, Jose Vega, recognized these students at the October Dillo Time Assembly.

Holly English and Raylee Wood were selected to have their artwork displayed in the Texas Art Education Association student exhibition at the 2026 txEDCON Exhibit Hall. The exhibition is held in conjunction with the annual Texas Association of School Administrators / Texas Association of School Boards (TASA/TASB) Convention, scheduled for October 8–11, 2026, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. The juried show features selected Pre-K through 12th-grade artwork from across Texas and is viewed by school administrators and board members from throughout the state.

Separately, Enrique Mendoza's artwork was chosen as one of 250 pieces selected for display at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. The Stock Show’s youth art contest invites Texas students to submit original works that express Texas culture and western environments. The multi-week event showcases selected pieces, giving young artists a prominent stage alongside one of the state’s largest and most traditional celebrations of Texas heritage.

Congratulations to these students for representing San Saba High School with distinction. The new Art Club looks forward to building on this success throughout the year.

The Art Club is open to all students interested in art.
