The week before last was homecoming week, and due to some technical difficulties we were unable to feature our homecoming court. So, this article will include that information. Freshman duchess was Anika Srishti, daughter of Talli and Chase Ellis. She was escorted by freshman duke, Holdin Boswell, son of Bucky and Katie Boswell. Sophomore class duchess was Ella Owen, daughter of Kari and Tyler Owen. She was escorted by the sophomore duke, Alex Peterson, son of Jake and Natasia Peterson. Junior duchess was Taylor Randolph, daughter of Jason and Regina Randolph. She was escorted by junior duke, Jaxon White, son of Zack and Erin White.
Our senior class was honored as well. Kolton Bench was escorted by his parents, Jason and Crystal Bench. He participates in football, basketball, and track. After graduation, Kolton intends to attend TSTC Brownwood for welding.
Summer Davis was escorted by Trulee Ladden,Ariana Sharpe, Kaci and Tommy Morrison, and Talli, Kennedy, and Chase Ellis. Summer participates in Cheer. She plans to attend cosmetology school to earn her license and one day own her own shop and be her own boss.
Lily Graves was escorted by her granny, Brenda Dawson, and her parents, Brooke and Jarrod Beck. She participates in Cheer, XC, Basketball, track, FFA, and the NHS. After graduation, she plans to attend college.
Tyler Kaine was escorted by Marley Huron and parents, Ashley and Jeremy Arzt. After high school, Tyler plans to attend Angelo State for engineering.
Susan Michelle Lane was escorted by parents Amanda and Billy Lane, grandparents Dan and Audrey Manual, step mom Sherry, and Ruben Morgan. While at Cherokee, Susan participates in pig showing, UIL, and she is an FFA Officer. After graduation, Susan plans to attend cosmetology school and one day own her own business.
Ryan Lemaster was escorted by parents, Robert and Rachel Lemaster. While in Cherokee, he participates in FFA and Ag Mechanics. After graduation Ryan plans to enter the workforce in the landscaping field while exploring other career opportunities.
Carlos Preciado was escorted by Coach Moss and Coach Mar-tin. While at Cherokee, Carlos has participated in football. After graduation, Carlos plans to join the United States Army.
Patrick Ratliff was escorted by Joel and Elizabeth Ratliff. While in Cherokee, he participates in FFA and Ag Mechanics. After graduation, Patrick plans to obtain a Class A CDL from TSTC.
Robert Sawyer was escorted by his parents Dane and Jessica Sawyer and grandparents Gail Beedy and Larry Sawyer. While in Cherokee, Rob participated in football, basketball, pole vault, and track. He also competed in both UIL academic and welding competitions. After high school, he intends to attend Texas Tech for Engineering.
Hannah Simms was escorted by mom, Rachel Sims; sister Michaela; and Valerie Valdez. While at Cherokee, Hannah walks XC, plays basketball, and runs track. After graduation, she intends to go to Angelo State and join the medical program.
Theresa Turner was escorted by Ginger Brooks and Claudia Bracamontes. While at Cherokee, she participates in FFA, UIL, and Track. After graduation, Theresa plans to attend Tyler Community College to major in nursing.
Weston Woolsey was escorted by dad, Brad Smith, mom and step-dad, Briana and Jon Garner, and grandparents, Bill and Deneise Woolsey. While in Cherokee, Weston participated in XC, football, basketball, golf, and track. After high school, he intends to go to trade school.
Our Football Beau, selected by the cheerleaders and presented by Preslee Duggan, was Weston Woolsey. The Football Sweetheart, selected by the football team and presented by Uriah Valdez and Preston Hanley, was Taylor Randolph. Homecoming Queen was Lily Graves and Homecoming King was Robert Sawyer.
See Cherokee ISD News In sports news, our junior high team conquered Rock Springs with a final score of 51-0 early in the third quarter. The varsity game was a bit more exciting with the opponent scoring a few touchdowns early on. However, once the Indians secured the lead, they did not let it go. The final score in a hard-fought game was 56-41 in favor of our Indians.
The Cherokee Flag Football team took on the Brady Bulldogs and only lost by one touchdown. This team has learned so much, and we are very proud of their hard work! This Saturday, the game will be in Brady vs San Saba at 1 p.m.
