Welcome to the RSPS column. Our recorder retired, and the news regarding our group has fallen to me. I hope we can replace Dee Crump. She was excellent at her job, and we miss her sorely.
The RSPS executive group is Sue Ransom, President; Paige Moats, Vice-president; and Franky Soto, Treasurer. Our goal is to restore and make ready for use the old bank building. To date, we have replaced the roof. There are no more leaks. We have replaced the windows that were leaking due to weathered frames. There are more windows to replace, but they are not imperative. The bank itself has been freshly painted, and a new beadboard ceiling has been put in place.
On behalf of the executive committee, I want to thank every person who has contributed to the success of our monthly luncheons. Whether your donation is large or small, every cent puts us closer to our completion goal. We hope to have businesses and community events in the future. For now, RS BoHo Unique is doing a great job of keeping a classy looking business running. I hope many of you are supporting her often. Her signage enhances the look of the building.
At present, we have just over $2,000 in our account. Our luncheons are now targeting the restoration or replacement of the bank wood flooring. I am amazed at how wonderful our community is. Every month, members provide food and then make donations to eat. There is always a wide choice of foods. I love to hear the fellowship and laughter flow around the room. I can’t thank everyone enough for joining us in this community endeavor. You are special.
Next month, the luncheon is on October 11th. The Community Center doors will be open by 9:30 a.m. so you can drop off your dish before church. Everyone is welcome. If you don’t bring a dish, no problem, there’s always plenty to go around. No one goes hungry.
