Old-Time Camp Meeting set for June 4-7 at Bend UMC

The 168th consecutive camp meeting, hosted annually by the members of Bend United Methodist Church, has been set for June 4-7. Services are to be held at the historic Methodist Campground on Cherokee Creek, near Chappel Community.

Members of the Bend United Methodist Church are pleased to announce that Rev. Jason Adams, senior pastor at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church is San Antonio, will be the evangelist for this year's revival. An ordained elder in the Rio Texas Conference since 1997, Jason has shepherded congregations across Texas––from San Angelo and San Benito to Corpus Christi, New Braunfels, and San Antonio––bringing with him a pastor's heart and the conviction that every person deserves to experience the transforming love of God.

Jason is a native of Brady, Texas where he graduated from high school in 1989. He is a graduate of McMurry University (1993) and a graduate of Perkins School of Theology SMU in 1997.

Pastor Adams and his wife Kalenda are the proud parents of three children: Jacob, Grayson, and Abi. Plus, their beloved four-legged family member, Revvy. When not leading or studying, you will find Jason reading and enjoying watching sports––especially the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and San Antonio Spurs.

A verse that shapes Jason's journey of faith is Philippians 4:6-7: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.' It is a reminder that life rooted in gratitude and prayer is a life held firmly in God's peace.
