This week, we proudly celebrate the college graduations of two outstanding young adults whose dedication, leadership, and service have already made a meaningful impact on those around them.
Abilene Christian University graduate Erick Miller earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies. During his time at ACU, Erick distinguished himself through academic excellence and campus leadership. He received the prestigious Dean Adams Award, served as both President and Chaplain of his fraternity, Nu Kappa Psi, and was recognized as the winner of the Morgan Stanley Ambassador Program.
Following graduation, Erick has been accepted into the master’s program in history at Howard University. With plans to eventually pursue a Ph.D., he hopes to build a career as a professor devoted to academic research and teaching.
Also graduating from Abilene Christian University is Brissa Baugh, who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. Brissa demonstrated remarkable academic achievement throughout her college career, earning placement on the Dean’s List every semester.
In addition to her studies, Brissa was actively involved in service organizations, including LYNAY (“Love Your Neighbor As Yourself”), a servant leader-ship group dedicated to helping others. She also volunteered with Palm House Children’s Ministry, and CALF (“Children’s Art and Literacy Festival) sharing her time and talents with local children and families.
Brissa has accepted a position with Directors Investment Group as a graphic designer, where she will begin her professional career using the creativity and skills she developed during her years at ACU.
The staff and family at Cherokee Home for Children are incredibly proud to have been part of Erick and Brissa’s journeys and celebrate the hard work, character, and determination that have led them to this exciting season of success and opportunity.
