Cherokee Chatter

God blessed us with beautiful weather as friends and families came from near and far to enjoy the special occasion.

A highlight of the event was the ribbon cutting for the new Richard W. Zipp Transitional Living Center. Surrounded by children, staff, and board members, Richard’s wife, Nelda, joined one of our seniors, Piper, to cut the ribbon, marking the completion of the new center.

Guests had the chance to tour the facility, take part in activities, and enjoy a delicious barbecue meal. Donations were made to help provide meals for the kids throughout the year, adding even more meaning to the event.

Cherokee home was pleased to honor Chuck Bailey from Tommy Bailey Pest Control in Llano, Texas, as this year’s Service Award Recipient. Chuck has humbly and generously provided low cost pest control while encouraging our kids and staff during every visit for over 40 years.

Another highlight of the day was hearing from our seniors, Piper and Ruben, as well as alumni, Brissa and Erick. Their stories of appreciation of the love and support they have felt from their Cherokee Home family were both heartwarming and inspiring.

Cherokee Day was a joyful reminder of what makes this community so special, people coming together to support one another and celebrate milestones side by side.
