Last week, we held our annual Senior Robing Ceremony. This is a tradition Ms. Sharkey started a few years ago to allow our students time to reflect on the educators who have poured into them over the years. Each senior chooses on educator to honor and in return, the educator robes the student. Lilian Anderson chose Brad Bowden. Robert Bench honored Paul Bordner. Cayden Houston selected Coach Zack White. Ruben Morgan chose Natasia Peterson. Tatum Shanklin selected Ralene Gideon. Tilar Turman honored Catherine Whitely. Max Williams selected Laura Gratz. Thank you to each one of these teachers for going above and beyond for their students.
Over the weekend, we had several track athletes compete in Seguin at the regional track meet. Cayden Houston placed 5th in the long jump and 2nd in the high jump. Uriah Valdez placed 3rd in the shot put. Taylor Randolph placed 1st in the pole vault. Both Houston and Randolph will advance to state.
We will have our athletic banquet at the Children’s Home gym on Thursday, May 7th, at 6:30 p.m. The Science Fair is on the 11th from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the old gym. Community members are welcome and encouraged to attend. We hope everyone is surviving these last few exciting weeks of school!
