I am not talking specifically about the war in Iran but about world peace. Everyone hopes for world peace. Many times, there could be peace and then it breaks out somewhere else in the world. Why is it this?
Governments or political leaders are one reason. Intolerant, blood shedding religions is another. But the main underlying reason is the heart of man is basically sinful.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...
Psalms 140:2 ... who plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually.
Proverbs 12:20 Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy.
Jesus even told His disciples that there would be wars and rumors of wars, and it was going to happen and keep happening but not to lose heart.
Matthew 24:6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
Luke 12:51-53 Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. 52 For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.
There is coming a day when Jesus is going to put a stop to all this. It will be the second time Jesus sets His foot on the earth.
Acts 1:11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
Matthew 24:30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
The first at His birth and the prophecies in the Bible were fulfilled about His innocent sinless life were fulfilled, His suffering and terrible death on the cross.
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
But most importantly His resurrection from the grave.
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,...
Now He resides in Heaven at the right hand of the Father, ( Matthew 16:19).
But He is coming again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, to set foot on the mount of Olives and bring a period of world peace and He will rule for a thousand years, (See Titus 2:11-15, Revelation 1:7).
See you in Church next Sunday.
