San Saba ISD VASE results

The San Saba ISD artists have made a remarkable showing at the recent Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) and Junior VASE competitions. A total of 31 high school students from San Saba High School earned gold medals for their outstanding artwork, while all five middle school students who participated in Jr. VASE also brought home gold medals.

The VASE program, sponsored by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA), provides students with an opportunity to showcase their creative talents through rigorous adjudication. Gold medals are awarded to artworks receiving the highest ratings, recognizing exceptional skill, originality, and artistic expression.

In last year's 2025 Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE), hosted by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA), over 32,500 high school students competed across Texas in the High School VASE program, and there were 14,330 Junior VASE artworks.

Unlike UIL competitions that group schools by enrollment size (e.g., 2A vs. 5A), VASE does not divide participants by school size. Instead, students compete against all others in their region, but artworks are grouped and judged within four divisions based on the student's art experience level
