What an incredible season it has been for our San Saba Youth Basketball program! With 94 kids registered this year, our gym was filled with energy, excitement, learning, and growth from the very first practice to the final buzzer.
This season was about so much more than wins and losses. We watched each child grow — not only in skill, but in confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and heart. From learning how to dribble and set screens to encouraging teammates and showing respect to opponents, the growth we witnessed individually and collectively as teams was truly special. It has been such a joy to see friendships built, goals accomplished, and hard work pay off.
None of this season would have been possible without our amazing coaches. We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to: Juan Rivera, Laura Bessent, Dynasty Jackson, Saveria Vasquez, Ana Sanderson, Aaron Johnson, Greg Johnson, PJ Fuller, Danessa Morrison, Sean Smith, Brian Henslee, Jessica Fuller, Audrey Pierce, Courtney Craft, Margaret Henslee, Sammy Rodriguez, Joe Walts, Trey Tinney, Brittni Borel, and Ollie Olavarria.— along with every single person who stepped in to help whenever needed.
Your time, dedication, patience, and love for these kids does not go unnoticed. You poured into them week after week, and without you, this season simply would not have happened.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Robby Haynes, Logan Glover, and all of the volunteers who stepped up to referee our home games. Your willingness to serve made such a difference and helped keep our season running smoothly.
To every parent who brought their child to practice, every grandparent who sat in the stands, every business that supported us, and every volunteer who helped in any way — thank you. It truly takes a community to build something this special, and we are so grateful for ours.
As it says in Ecclesiastes 4:9, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” This season was a beautiful example of what happens when a community comes together for a common purpose — investing in our children.
Ninety-four kids strong this season — and we hope it continues to grow with each passing year!
