Mr. and Mrs. Lon Strickland, who recently sold their home, have moved into the upstairs of The Star Office, formerly the offices of Jas. H. Baker, deceased. The offices have been renovated and turned into an apartment.
T. T. Walker’s Electric Shop is one of the nicest arranged stores in this city. The interior has been completely overhauled and everything looks spick and span.
A modern auction barn and pens for 1000 cattle will be erected at Harkeyville, it has been announced. Operators of the auction will be E. M. Brewton of Goldthwaite and Davidson Brothers of Harkeyville.
George Schierton of the Home and Auto Supply Store has opened a temporary garage in the sheet iron building at the rear of his store. He has three mechanics employed.
H. M. Locker and son have opened a new grocery in the business house formerly occupied by the Star Theater.
Fred Crouch and C. A. Smith will open a grocery and market in the building next door to the Texas Theater as soon as they can complete some repairs on the building.

Rayna Gossett has returned to college after the holidays, to Tarleton University; Angie Cottrell to A&M; and Ken Parson is attending Howard Payne this semester instead of Tarleton.
The stallion Tommie Twig was winning in Mexico at distances of three-quarters to seven-eights of a mile. The Locklears used him as a sire with the imported thoroughbred mares, and Tommie Twig proved to be a worthy stallion.
H. M. and Kristen Ann Boswell of Blanco announce the arrival of their second child, Kesla Faith, born at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio on Jan. 20. She weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz. and measured 20 inches long. She is welcomed home by her sister, Kelby Kay.
Maria Guadalupe Chavarria left for basic training in the United States Air Force. She will receive training in San Antonio before being stationed in Mississippi. Maria is the daughter of Felicitas and Cecilio Chavarria of San Saba, and is a 1994 San Saba High School graduate.
Fairfield Ford-Mercury, Inc., owned by Golding Motors, has been awarded a trip to the Super Bowl. The dealership was number one in sales in their group, competing with numerous dealerships across the state. This will be the 7th trip to the Super Bowl for Paul and Neleva Golding.
