My name is Clay Spivey, and I have a reoccurring issue at Bend, Texas, with water runoff from the Bend General Store area onto my property. Since 2021, I have contacted Al Hamrick, the San Saba County representative, with complaints about the water puddles. One area near a little room behind some cabins has a very fragrant puddle on the fence line spilling over onto my property. The past few months, water has collected around an old water drainpipe, saturating the ground for a 100 feet, and soaking into my concrete foundation. A few days after Christmas, there was a large water puddle on the ground on my property near a RV located on the Bend General Store property. While working, our tools and shoes were covered in mud, even though it had not rained recently. This same area has been saturated many times over the past years, often on Saturdays. Al Hamrick has worked very hard after my complaints; however, the situation has become increasingly worse. I believe it is time for TCEQ to assist.
TCEQ states that “any kind of overflow from an on-site sewage facility is a public health nuisance and a violation of state requirements.”
Thank You, Clay Spivey Bend, Texas
