Volunteers, Sponsors Needed as Construction on Animal Shelter Progresses

San Saba County Friends of Animals is making exciting progress on the county's first-ever animal shelter. The play yard fence has officially been completed, and construction on the second half of the front fencing is currently underway. Inside the building, one wall frame is now up in the cattery, and about threequarters of the concrete floors have already been sealed. Paint for the office has been purchased, and painting is expected to begin very soon.

As the shelter continues to take shape, San Saba County Friends of Animals is looking for volunteers to help with finishing the cattery and assisting with concrete work. Volunteers are also urgently needed to help feed and clean the animals currently in care. We are still in need of indoor kennels and kennel sponsorships are still available. Kennel sponsors receive a custom plaque with their chosen wording that will remain on the kennel for the life of the kennel. We are looking to purchase 13 dog kennels and 15 cat condos. We are also in need of wet cat food, clumping litter, and extra large puppy pads.
