The Christmas season is nearing, and it is time for our annual Angels Unaware gift collection. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to bless a child in need. We have reached out to our previous Angel recipients and are now accepting applications for new families who have financial hardships in San Saba County. The children need to live in San Saba County to qualify.
The Angels Unaware program, managed under the San Saba County Welfare Board (SSCWB), is an annual event that allows generous community members to purchase gifts for children birth-6th grade, whose families need a helping hand this Christmas. If you know someone that might qualify, please have them contact Corina at 325 2051454. Names can be submitted up to December 1st. Unfortunately, after December 1st, we will not be able to accept any applications.
The David Williams Memorial Tree will be placed in the atrium of the Arrowhead Bank on Thursday, November 20th. On that tree will be numbered tags to represent a child. There will be a “wish list” on the tag to help you select your gifts, and a sign-up list next to the tree where you will fill out your name and phone number; along with the tag number you have chosen. This helps us know who took the tag and how to get in touch with you. Please return the unwrapped gifts no later than Saturday, December 6th to Alamo Pecan & Coffee. Make sure to include the ornament tag inside your bags so that we know which child it belongs to.
If you would prefer to donate money to go towards purchasing gifts, you may drop the money off at Arrowhead National Bank or give to one of the following SSCWB board members: Maria Guerrero, Monica Shahan, Keith Davis, Shawn Hull, Michele Whitley, Kim Daniel, Mary Dell Rhoades, Pam Wallace, & Mike and Debbie Phelan. We appreciate all our donors who each year make this a wonderful Christmas for so many kids in San Saba County. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity!
