The Pierian Study Club

On Thursday, November 13, the ladies of the Pierian Study Club gathered in the home of Celia Bell for the monthly meeting. The Projects Committee, consisting of Jacqueline Carlson, Sandy Smith, Donna Baxter, Gail Bruner and Laina Murray were hostesses. They served mini cornucopias filled with charcuterie themed goodies, as well as pumpkin bread and banana nut bread. Celia had her home decorated for fall and to complete the fall theme, hot spiced tea was served to drink.

Upon arrival, all the members selected an 'angel' from the Christmas tree, to help the youth of San Saba have a Merry Christmas. Members are to bring their unwrapped gifts to the December meeting.

The program for the afternoon was 'Pumping for Purpose', with Juice and Pilar Rosales as speakers. They talked about their life from childhood and how they became a couple during high school, to having children, having various jobs, to the start of their present business, Juice's Septic and Grease Pumping. Their story was heartwarming, as well as entertaining. I don't think the group has ever laughed as much during a program. We appreciate them taking time to speak to us.

After the program, a business meeting was held. It was noted that the December 11, in the home of Martha Leigh Whitten, and the theme is a 'Cup of Cheer'. There is a cost of ten dollars for members and members are allowed to invite a quest as well. Everyone is asked to bring an unwrapped coffee mug for exchange. I'm sure it will be lots of fun and hopefully

the weather will be cool enough to feel like Christmas! Hope to see you there!
