FREDERICKSBURG – Daniel Pardo, Columbia-American flutist whose programming blends classical music with Latin jazz and world music, will be performing here Sunday, Oct. 19, along with eight percussion and string accompanists, for the second of eight Fredericksburg Music Club 2025-2026 season concerts.
Seating for the 3 p.m. program in the sanctuary of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 1800 North Llano, will begin at 2:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. The performance is free, although goodwill offerings are welcome.
A former U.S. military musician who resides in Houston where he is a professor of flute at Prairie View A&M University, Pardo is an award-winning musician for his arrangement of world music with jazzy harmonies.
In demand as a presenter/performer in festivals, universities, conferences and concert series in the U.S. and abroad, his programs include: 'The Flute Around the World', 'From Mozart to Corea' and 'Classical Boleros' in a combination of formats from flute and guitar to flute and rhythm section with strings.
His 2024 recording of Central American Boleros with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and rhythm section was awarded gold medals in the instrumentalist and album categories by the Global Music Awards.
Pardo has been featured at the National Flute Association Gala concerts on multiple occasions and in 2026 is serving as program chair for the NFA convention in Portland, OR. He is a member of the Texas Commission on the Arts' Texas Touring Roster and a Yamaha Performing Artist and Clinician.
In addition to freewill offerings given at the door on Oct. 19, that afternoon’s performance is also being partially funded by donations from members of the Fredericksburg Music Club. Membership cards for individuals and corporate sponsors wishing to join the Fredericksburg Music Club will also be available at the door.
