Property reappraisal will begin in Cherokee for the 2026 tax year. An employee from Pritchard & Abbott will be going through the Cherokee area and updating pictures and information on improvements.
The appraiser will have a sign on the side of their truck showing that they are with the appraisal district and they will have an identification. If any taxpayer is concerned about their legitimacy, they should call the district office at 325-372-5031. No appraiser will ever ask to come into anyone’s house. If anyone represents themselves as employees of the district or contractors and asks to see the interior of a taxpayer’s home, they should be denied access and the taxpayer should call law enforcement.
