Cherokee ISD News

Last week, our Indians had a great week. Both our junior high and varsity football teams snagged big wins over Sidney. Congratulations to these athletes!

Our Fresh Country FFA fundraiser officially begins this week. Find an FFA member to place your order.

Cross country runners will be traveling to Hamilton this Wednesday, while our junior high football team hosts Rochelle this Thursday. Friday, the varsity team will travel to Benjamin.

To teachers and staff, our PTC grants are open for applicants. If you have an idea of something you would like to have for your classroom, collect the information and explain what you hope to do with the items and submit it to the PTC by the October 14th meeting. Things that have been submitted in the past are a gold panning kit, classroom transformation items, books, board games, etc. Get creative, have fun, and expand your classroom with the help of PTC!

Speaking of PTC, we are running a little FUNdraiser. At each home game, there will be boxes with photos on them at the concession stand. These brave souls have volunteered to get a pie in the face. Place your money in the person's box you would most like to see get pied. You can vote for as many people as you'd like and as often as you'd like. Whoever gets more than $100 in donations, will get pied at the Fall Festival. There will also be opportunities for you to win a chance to throw the pie!

Also, Fall Festival planning is happening right now. If you would like to help with the planning process or are interested in taking over as coordinator, let Kari Owen know at kowen@cherokeeisd.net. Mark your calendars for October 25th. It's going to be a lot of fun!
