Our speaker was Craig Hardy, Governor for Rotary District 5840.
Craig reviewed with the club the three-year preparation that Rotary requires for candidates to hold the office. Thus said, he approaches the position with both humility and honor.
Craig went on to describe how Rotary reacted when the Emergency Alerts began for Kerr County and surrounding counties when the Guadalupe River began flooding last July. Thankfully, District 5840 had just revised its Disaster Plan the previous year. The District Disaster Coordinator was contacted who activated emergency protocols to serve the affected counties.
Craig also formed an ad hoc disaster relief committee to oversee the financial infrastructure so donations can also be used for long-term recovery.
Rotary President Jake Lackey will give a tour of San Saba areas to both Craig and Bobby Martinez (District 5840 Governor Elect) to review how District Rotary might help our city.
