Science Mill opens doors for Girl Scouts on Sept 20

The Science Mill in Johnson City, Texas, is hosting a Girl Scout Badge Day on September 20, 2025, with a day of activities and celebrations of STEM-focused learning. Self-guided activities and workshops will run from 10 am to 4 pm.

The event offers the following activities:

Daisy Activity: Model Car Design Badge

Students will learn about force and friction and how they affect the motion of an object, by testing a variety of ramps and measuring the effects on the motion of model cars.

Brownie Activity: Naturalist - Bugs

Students will learn about bugs and their homes by completing a bug poster, making bugs using craft materials, creating a bug home for bugs to live in, and observing bugs in their natural habitats.

Junior Activity: Balloon Car Design Badge

Students will use their knowledge of potential and kinetic energy to create a balloon car design that travels the fastest and furthest. They will race against other cars and compare their results, while gaining understanding about design, engineering, and problem-solving.

Cadette Activity: Special Agent Badge
