Focus for September: Empathy What is Empathy?
Empathy means understanding and really feeling what others are going through. It’s about making sure people around you feel seen, heard, and valued.
Empathy isn’t about fixing everything--it’s about caring enough to listen, connect, and show kindness.
Conversation Starters:
Try these with a friend, teammate, or family member:
- What’s something you can do to be a better listener?
- When is it hardest for you to stay open-minded?
- Describe a time someone really listened to you. How did it feel?
At San Saba ISD, good character means showing empathy everyday-- in the classroom, in the hallways, on the field and beyond.
