Marsha Smart has received many calls at the San Saba’s First Baptist Church office since the flood. Many, many people are wanting to donate and help, and some are needing help.
One call was from Linda Blasky in Florida. She called the week after the first flood. Her granddaughter, Alexis Blasky and her friends, heard about the flooding in Texas. They got together to make some blankets for flood victims and wanted to send them to San Saba. Linda wanted to know where to send the blankets.
The grandmother called back the next week to make sure the box had arrived. Her call came just minutes after the box was delivered to the church.
Inside the boxes were these beautiful blankets made by Alexis and her friends, Shakira, Jade, Harper, and Kennedy from Howey-in-the Hills, Florida.
They also included in the box these photos of the girls and a sweet card they all signed. The front of the card read, “Just a little reminder - I’m here and I care... with a hug and a prayer.”
The card also said they are part of “Florida’s Hometown USA Program.”
