I write this letter to hopefully reach as many people as possible. We are all aware that San Saba County has just gone through something historical. Something that we will be hearing stories about, the floods of July 2025, for many years to come.
Some of you have already begun your long-term recovery by going to the Disaster Recovery Center [DRC] that is located at the Civic Center at the back of Mill Pond Park. Some of you are hesitant to go up to the DRC because you do not know what you need, who you need to talk to, when you should go… just go!
They are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. DAILY. They will help you with all the questions that you didn’t even know you had running in your head.
Go! And begin the process that you need to find the help you can access. I had to do it and, yes, it wasn’t my favorite thing to do ...but I’m so glad that I did it!!
Now, for those who are going to need to do rebuilding/renovating because of the flood damage… the QR Code below is your fact sheet for what steps you must take to correct the damage done.
