Here is a heartwarming story of small-town generosity in action. The community of Godley, alongside local businesses, recently came together to raise donations and haul multiple trailers full of supplies to support the people of San Saba, Texas.
Teams set up smokers and worked hard to serve an estimated 400+ meals to the local community — all as part of a grassroots relief effort.
Here are the two main teams that helped on the ground on Saturday, July 12th:
Small Town Charities (Rising Star, TX)
Location: Parking lot beside Everett’s Furniture
Served: BBQ – Ribs and Pork Started at 11:00 AM and served all day
Double J Smokers and Friends (Godley, TX)
Location: Parking lot of First Baptist Church
Served: BBQ – Chicken and a variety of other meals
Started at 11:00 AM and served all day
It’s been incredible to see these communities come together in support of their neighbors.
They pulled in and set up late Friday night and the planned to be out there until they run out of food later Saturday!
