Cherokee VFD responded to a medical emergency this morning that escalated into a swift water rescue operation after the caller's vehicle was swept away by floodwaters on CR 347.
With the assistance of a Texas swift water rescue boat team and Texas Parks and Wildlife rescue team, two adults and one canine were safely extricated from the submerged vehicle. One adult was transported for medical evaluation; all individuals involved are reported safe.
