Approximately 65 members of the community joined together last Thursday, May 1st, in honor of the National Day of Prayer on the third floor of the Courthouse in the Courtroom.
After Judge Jody Fauley welcomed everyone, representatives from local churches led everyone in prayer, each having a different topic:
Church - Tom Brand from The Father’s House
Family - Cissy Williams from St. Mary’s Catholic Church
Education - Jairus McKamie from Hill County Bible Church
Business and the workplace - Judy Swarts from First Methodist Church
Military - Greg McGregor from First Baptist Church
Government - Alan Arthur from First Baptist Church
Arts and Media - Amanda Brand from The Father’s House
Law Enforcement and First Responders - John Alsbrooks from First Presbyterian Church
Kelly Murray from First United Methodist Church led everyone in the closing prayer from the Gospels:
Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver use from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen.
