This week we are excited to announce that Jeremiah Wakefield earned a bronze medal by placing 3rd in the 100 meter dash at the state track meet. While he didn’t make it to the podium, he also placed 7th in the 200 meter dash. Way to represent Cherokee!
In other sports news, Lauren Roberson and Payton Hanley will play in the Brazos Bowl All-Star basketball game in Strawn June 13-14. Good luck, Lady Indians!
The senior robing ceremony went off without a hitch last week too with students honoring someone in education who has positively influenced them. Payton Hanley honored Regina Randolph. Seth Lemaster honored his mother, Rachael Lemaster. Lauren Roberson honored Laura Gratz. Annie Rutledge honored Kallie Johanson. Joel Valdez honored Paul Bordner. Jeremiah Wakefield honored Chris Langston.
Students, staff, parents, and community members are invited to attend our Economics Fair on May 19th, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. This is a one-of-a-kind shopping experience where our students will see economics at work. The third, fourth, and fifth graders have been learning about expenses, profits, simple loans, professionalism, quality, effort, persuasive advertising techniques, and responsibility. They have been creating handmade products for you to purchase. We are excited for our little entrepreneurs!
