Last week, several of our track athletes participated in the regional meet in Seguin. Our boys' 4x100 relay placed 3rd. Runners were Weston Woolsey, Cayden Houston, Joel Valdez, and Jeremiah Wakefield. In the 110 meter hurdles, Joel Valdez placed 6th. In the 100 meter dash, Cayden Houston placed 6th and Jeremiah Wakefield placed 1st. In the 200 meter dash, Jeremiah Wakefield placed 2nd. He will advance to state in both events. The state meet is held at Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium in Austin on Saturday, May 3.
In other sports news, our golf team came in 5th place at Regionals. Golfers were Joel Valdez, Weston Woolsey, Jeremiah Wakefield, Tatum Shanklin, and Jaxon White. Congratulations to these athletes.
This week, we are continuing testing with 5th and 8th grade science STAAR on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will have the 8th grade social studies test, Biology EOC, and the US history EOC. Next week, 3rd-5th grades will take the math STAAR on Tuesday the 29th. On Wednesday the 30th, 6th – 8th grades will take math STAAR, and Algebra 1 will take their EOC.
With the end of the year comes many events of note. On April 29th we will have our senior robing ceremony. On May 4th, the Baptist Church will host a senior ice cream social at 5 p.m. The Masonic Lodge senior banquet will be on the 8th. Pre-K registration will be on the 12th from 4:305:30 p.m. The athletic banquet will be on the 13th at 6 p.m. On the 15th, there will be a rotary banquet. Prom will be on the 16th at Putters and Gutters in Marble Falls. The 19th will be the Economics Fair hosted by 3rd-5th graders.
