Many around town have been talking about two deaths last week in Richland Springs. There are quite a few tales out there about what happened. Those tales will not be listed here so as to not help fuel the fire.
I contacted the San Saba Sheriff's office to see if they could provide you with official details. That way you no longer have to speculate. Even though the information given may not be very detailed at this time, it is the official word from law enforcement.
The San Saba County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating two separate unattended deaths that occurred at different times within the county, around Richland Springs. Both incidents remain under investigation, and the causes of death are pending the results of medical examinations.
In each case, deputies responded to the scenes and secured the areas while investigators began their work. Out of respect for the individuals and their families, no further identifying information will be released at this time. Next of kin have been notified in both cases.
At this stage in the investigations, there is no indication of any immediate threat to the public. We encourage residents to remain vigilant and contact law enforcement with any concerns or information they may have.
