R. C. Burleson, 1st Lieutenant of the Third Field Artillery stationed at Ft. Myer, Va., is here for an extended visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Burleson.
The Boston Beauty specialist will be at the Corner Drug Store for one week and will clearly demonstrate to all interested the many valuable uses of the Harmony Toilet Products. Every lady in San Saba and surrounding territory should avail themselves of this opportunity.
The San Saba High School observed Arbor Day in February by planting trees and flowers on the campus.
D. C. Russell has returned from Llano and vicinity where he spent several days in the interest of the San Saba Thornless Pear Garden.
Alfred Parfitt of Cleburn was here for a visit with his daughter, Miss Ethel Parfitt, one of the teachers in the High School.

The city council and commissioners court entered into an agreement to keep up the landing strip north of town. During the past week, one plane came here from Dallas to get a patient to take to the hospital there, and had to go to Brownwood to land, due to the condition of the strip. Hardly a day passes that there isn’t a plane wanting to make a landing here.
City mail delivery will be available to residents of San Saba as soon as all the street signs have been erected, W. E. Bryant, San Saba Postmaster, announced. Postmaster Bryant has received letters confirming the fact that the City of San Saba has met all requirements for city mail delivery except for the street signs.
I. D. Kelly was honored at his home with a dinner in observance of his 74th birthday. The meal was prepared and served by his daughters, Frances and Willie Turner.
Winter returned to San Saba county when a fast moving cold front covered the area dropping the temperature from 66 degrees to a low of 16 degrees early morning. Strong winds were accompanied by sleet and snow during the night and the ground was white with frozen sleet and snow.
Mel Whitley of Austin, formerly of San Saba and son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Whitley, won first place in the outboard class of the Houston Channel marathon recently. He drove a Glastron V-163, powered by two Merc 1000s. Whitley was presented his trophy by James Arness of Gunsmoke fame, who was present for the races.
