February Greetings to you all!
Good news on the bank building renovation project! Lydick (the roofing company) is ready to proceed with the roof replacement on the old bank building. Then, once the roof is completed, renovations in the upstairs rooms will begin.
Paige Moats has applied for a grant with the T-Mobile Hometown Grant program, called Main Street America. At this time it is still pending.
February 16th is our Valentine fundraiser. We’re once again asking the community to come together and help with this event by bringing some of your delicious home cooking. You may drop off your food on your way to church that morning. We’re asking for crockpots of spaghetti, or whatever you like to bring for a crowd, as well as desserts and bread.
We hope to be able to do this regularly and have great turnouts. Our last event was a major success due to the great community turnout. We couldn't do this without our wonderful community. Thank you all for your help raising funds for the bank building renovation projects!
Annual dues will be due in the coming months. Dues are only $10 per family, but by being a member of the RS Preservation Society you voice your support for keeping our community history alive. You may mail your check or bring it to the next meeting. Make checks payable to Richland Springs Preservation Society, and indicate that it is for annual dues.
Of course, donations of any amount are always appreciated. The mailing address for dues or donations is: Richland Springs Preservation Society, P O Box 153, Richland Springs, TX 76871. The Preservation Society is a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization, so all donations are tax deductible.
Our next regular meeting will be February 17th, at 6:30 p.m. in the RS Community Center. Everyone is invited to come. There’s been a lot of sickness lately, so attendance was way down last month. So everyone, get well and come join us!
