• A person called stating they had someone living in the Cabo San Saba RV Park at 301 CR 102 in San Saba, who they heard had a criminal background. Caller gave individual's name. Caller was advised we can't check someone's background without an officer requesting it. They asked if they could speak to an officer and was told an officer would contact them but that they can't do that either without reason. Caller's contact info was given to an officer. Investigator Fincher spoke to them and told them we could not disseminate any criminal history information on their tennants. The person was advised they could request information through the DPS website, but it would be limited information.
• A person called stating there is a cow and a donkey in the middle of the road at FM 580 & CR 430 in San Saba.
• Motorist assist on Highway 190 W at river bridge in San Saba was called in.
• Caller advised that they are a guest on CR 224 in San Saba and the owner had to go out to west texas to handle something, but now that it is dark and the gate is closed they could hear a truck starting up on the other side and it has them “a little on edge.” The person requested someone to patrol out there.
February 4, 2025
• Motor assist called in on Highway 190 W at Richland Springs High School
• An officer took call... Cows out on CR 266 near Richland. Caller advised they belonged to an individual. No contact info for this individual.
• A person called stating their mom has a trailer at Apache Loop in Cherokee. Caller advised that their niece is going to the trailer and trying to get information off of it and giving it to the caller's mom, the person's sister. The person stated that they weren't supposed to be there. Caller's info was given to an officer.
• A person at CR 266 in San Saba called stating that they got an email with someone trying to extort them and requested to speak to a deputy.
• An officer advised that he had received a call about glass being in the road at Highway 190 W over by the Auction Barn in San Saba as well as a man being in the middle of the road with a car parked off to the side. Officer advised that no one nor a car was on scene. He advised that there was glass in the road and what appeared to be a house window frame off in the ditch. He stated that there was not much that could be done other than calling TxDOT to sweep the road. TxDOT advised that they had a couple of guys heading out there to clear the glass at 1920. • Individual was notified about 2 black cows out on FM 501 W of CR 365 in San Saba. Said they were already aware and had someone en route.
• A person called and said there was a large tent up in the treelines near FM 500 and CR 121 in San Saba. The person stated there was also a white Dodge unknown 28. Checked the area, unable to locate on any tent or truck. Checked FM 500 and also CR 121.
•Aperson at State Highway 16 in Cherokee called in and wanted to speak to a deputy about a possible extortion case.
• A person at CR 110 in San Saba called and stated there was a dead deer in the middle of the road.
February 6, 2025
• A person at CR 266 in Richland Springs stated there were a '*explicit* ton' of cows out that belonged to an individual and that they get out all the time.
• A person at CR 382 in Fredonia called in requesting to speak to someone about livestock neglect.
February 7, 2025
• A person called stating that there is an overturned vehicle on FM 1030 in San Saba. The person advised its a dark colored Chevy pick up. The person advised there is also a man walking south bound on the road; the person is not sure if he was the one in the vehicle. The person advised it is a white male, large, tattoos and no shirt.
• A person at Private Rd 430A in San Saba called stating that their friend, (15-16 yo male) was talking about committing suicide and the person was afraid that he had actually went ahead and did it.
• A person on Inca St in Cherokee called stating that an individual is outside in the yard shooting a gun. Caller stated they are calling on behalf of a friend of theirs. 7205 arrived in the area and advised that it was air pistols and air rifles being shot, that there were no firearms.
• A person in San Saba called stating that they are 3 hours from home but received a call that someone shot their dog because 'they thought the dog was being aggressive.' The person stated that they have never known their dog to be aggressive and they were unsure if the dog was killed from the shot or what was going on. Caller did not want to give location information if there was nothing criminal about this incident but wanted to speak to an officer or deputy on the matter. Caller did advise they live out in the county.
February 8, 2025
• A person on CR 245 in San Saba called stating that they were with Live 360 and they had received a crash alarm at the location given. They gave the phone number related to the account, tried to make contact with the phone number that was given, but did not get an answer either time. It rang once and went to voicemail. Made contact with the owner of the Live 360 account and they stated that there was no accident and that they were almost home, but they did not live in San Saba County.
• A person on N Indian Ave. in Cherokee called stating that someone was shooting off a gun in the area. An officer advised he spoke with the person who stated they had not heard shots in the last 20 minutes or so. The officer advised he was going to hang around to see if he could hear or see anyone.
February 9, 2025
• A person at Commerce St & Hall St in Richland Springs called stating that there was a grass fire behind the old Ag building. Advised it is a controlled burn.
