The students and staff at San Saba Elementary are working hard to improve attendance in school! For the second 9-week grading period (October 7 - December 19, 2024), 115 out of 294 students attended school every day! Seventy of these students also have perfect attendance for the entire fall semester.
These students were rewarded with purple pixie sticks for being present for the entire second 9 weeks and Blow Pop Lollipops for the entire semester. They were celebrated by their SSES peers and educators!
Research from the National Center for Education Statistics (nces.ed.gov) shows that attendance is an important factor in student achievement. We believe at San Saba Elementary that attendance habits start in grades PK3- 4th grade. If students have good attendance during these years, students usually maintain good attendance in middle/high school and post-secondary school as well as in their future workplaces and careers.
