Mike Teel, employee working in the Parks Department, was selected as the 'Employee of the Month' for November. Eugene Bessent, Parks Department Supervisor and Marcus Amthor presented Mike with a plaque with his name on it and a gift certificate to a local restaurant at the November City Council Meeting.
November 12th City Council meeting
At 6:00 p.m. Mayor Jordan called the meeting to order, announced a quorum present, and Alderman Marcus Amthor led the Invocation and Pledges. There were no public comments.

1. Resolution No. 2024-36 approving budget amendments for FY 2023-2024

3. Ordinance No. 2024-17, and Ordinance of the City of San Saba, Texas, Amending Ordinance No. 2024-08 and setting fees for various City services and consolidating those fees for convenience; amending various City Ordinances; and Containing a Severability Clause and an Effective Date

City Manager’s Report
Scott Edmonson, City Manager, reported on the following activities in the City of San Saba: the City’s Christmas Party will be on December 11th at noon; will be attending the required Public Funds Investment Training; Sabrina Maultsby will be attending the Election Law Seminar in January; the Sidewalk Project is nearing completion and have been working with Mr. Stowell regarding the side entrance to his building; Denver Daniel and the Electric Department have been replacing the Downtown Christmas lights; the new Veteran Banners look great, and there have had a lot of compliments; appointed as the CTCOG Representative for the County EDC Board.
Other Reports
Scott Glaze, Public Works Supervisor, reported that at the Christmas lights are 99% complete; working on cleaning up the Nature Park.
As there was no further discussion, the meeting adjourned at 6:19 p.m. and convened into Executive Session.
Executive Session
At 6:19 p.m., the City Council convened into Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.074, Texas Government Code, Personnel Matters.
At 7:37 p.m., the City Council adjourned Executive Session and entered back into open session.
It was unanimously approved to hire two additional Police Officers, effective immediately.
Action taken: Alderman Shawn Oliver made a motion to approve hiring two additional Police Officers, effective immediately, seconded by Alderman Marcus Amthor and was unanimously approved.
