Hello, dearest San Saba friends! Well this is a special week…Thanksgiving is upon us! My dachshund self is so excited! I love a holiday centered around culinary delights!
Now when we are talking turkey and taters, my tummy growls, my mouth does a happy dance, and I plan my entire day around kitchen visits until I see mom put Thanksgiving dinner in my bowl. We do not have a normal holiday, but did you really think we would…remember who I live with! We don’t have family, and mom thinks a protein drink is a meal…not a lot of hope for casseroles, pies and the only kind of dressing in our house is warm clothing! All that being truth, the day is about being with loved ones, and I love mom and she me, so we make it a holiday anyway.
I began a Christmas list and reading it might make someone think I had plans to open my own grocery store. Yep, I have lots of my favorite foods on the list. I do not waste time asking for toys…I unstuffed them in seconds and they have no nutritional value. Besides, all that cotton should never be called filling…ever tried to eat a mouthful of that stuff? Sometimes I think I want a puppy friend, but then I remember the words 'share everything' and quickly change my mind!
I sure hope each of you have a special and wonderful Thanksgiving. Please enjoy some of the special foods I will only see on television plates for me! Mom and I love you and will meet you around the corner for the month of December!
Love, Lenny
