On Tuesday, November 12th, the San Saba Elementary 3rd grade class had the honor of hosting our annual Veterans Day Program. Students had the pleasure of singing patriotic songs,speaking about, and thanking members of each branch of the military.
This year, our guest speaker was Retired US Naval Captain, Jeffrey Carlson. He read a student-written essay on how continuing to sing patriotic songs, continuing to pray for world leaders, and continuing to live by the Golden Rule is often how young students and community members can make their voices heard in this country and continue to give honor to those who have fought and served to keep our country free.
Each year, this program is special to put on, and each year, our 3rd graders go above and beyond to show respect to those who served.
