Last week our varsity football game was cancelled, but our junior high Indians were still able to play against Pawnee. They performed very well, closing the game out at halftime with a score of 56-0.
Our cross country girls along with solo runner, Weston Woolsey, traveled to the coast to compete at regionals. They Lady Indians finished the season with a 6thplace finish out of 22 teams. They were only 18 points from advancing to state. Weston Woolsey finished his season as well placing 53 out of 152 runners. Congratulations to these athletes. Cross Country is not easy, and they toughed it out!
Over the weekend, we held out PTC sponsored Fall Festival. We had a great turn out, had a lot of fun, and raised some money for a great cause! Games were played, and soups were slurped. We had some extra help this year from our very own Erick Miller, a former student, and his fraternity from Abilene Christian University. They were a big help with this event. We had a much bigger turnout this year in the trunk or treat portion of the event which was a really nice touch to end the night. Thanks to all who helped with this event.
We have a few events coming up to take note of. On November 11th, we will have a Veteran’s Day breakfast at 8 a.m. and a ceremony at 9 a.m. If you are a veteran that would like to attend the breakfast, please RSVP to 325-248-4196. Also we will have an elementary awards ceremony on November 12th at 3:40 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend! Then on November 14th, we will have our annual Thanksgiving meal. We invite families, friends, and community members to come enjoy a meal with our students. Adult meals will be $7.
Have a great week!
