The Choose Kindness Committee of the San Saba High School National Honor Society proudly announces our winners for the first nine weeks. This committee strives to lift up those in our school who have displayed noteworthy character and selfless kindness. Our winners for these nine weeks are Camila Patino and Ateligh Hunt.
Camila Patino is a Junior attending San Saba High School (SSHS). She loves volunteering, and her thoughtful actions display her caring heart.
Camila is involved in the school in numerous ways. She has been a dedicated member of the Golden Armadillo Band, playing percussion throughout her middle and high school careers. Beyond band, Camila is also involved in student council, working to better the school and community. Camila’s participation also encompasses multiple UIL events such as Theatrical Design and Social Studies.
Camila is currently a member of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE), which allows students to explore teaching professions and develop necessary leadership and character skills. In Camila’s free time, she enjoys writing, playing chess, and scrapbooking.
Our second candidate, Atleigh Hunt, is in her Freshman year at SSHS. She is in all honors classes and shows great academic excellence in addition to her kind heart towards others. She is involved in the Calculator Applications UIL, does marketing for the Theatrical Design UIL, and won Dictionary Skills for three years in a row. She demonstrates great leadership skills by serving as the Treasurer for the Freshman Class.
As a band member, Atleigh continues to excel. She was in All-Region band in 2023 and is part of the Golden Armadillo Band where she plays the French horn. She is also a member of the Future Farmers ofAmerica (FFA) and will be competing in Parliamentary Procedure this year.
She shows remarkable character and kindness to others through her Young Life leadership position and yearly volunteer participation in Mission San Saba.
We are very proud to recognize these bright, thoughtful young women as our Choose Kindness winners. Through their participation in extracurriculars, service to the community, and caring nature, they truly embody the Choose Kindness motto: “Choose kindness, you never know what someone is going through.”
