Hill County CattleWomen at SS event

The Hill Country Cattle-Women (HCCW) had the pleasure of participating on October 2nd, in the San Saba Progressive Ag and Safety Day, held at the civic center. We spoke to 74 fifth grade students, plus staff from the surrounding school districts. The event was filled with many diverse displays and activities. The CattleWomen told the students of the importance of beef in their lives. They were amazed at all the divers products and uses for things derived from beef cattle. Ninety-nine percent of the animal is used for everyday products. We also talked with the students of the importance of being safe and the dangers that could be found on a ranch. All the students were great listeners and asked lots of questions.

San Saba is one of the 14 counties encompassing the Hill Country CattleWomen's district. Every year, we award thousands of dollars in scholarships. If you like beef, you are eligible to join us!

We so enjoyed meeting the folks from San Saba County. A big thank you to the San Saba Soil & Water Conservation District and Carol Gibson. The lunch was delicious.
