Richland Springs Coyotes win third shutout victory in a row

Richland Springs took on Giddings Lone Star Friday, September 27th, and had their third shutout victory with a 48 to 0 final score. The Coyotes, now 5-0 in their pre-district season, produced 232 total yards, 129 rushing yards and 103 passing.

Billy Perry (#17) passed for 103 yards and three touchdowns, two to Hutton Rogers (#9) from seven and 10 yards out, and a 10-yarder to Brice Roesler (#6). Perry also rushed for 60 yards and two scores. Gage Behrens (#20) added 46 yards to the rushing total and scored twice from three and 43 yards out. Cohen Ethridge (#13) had a 36-yard reception and 23 yards rushing, while Hudson Tharp (#12) grabbed two catches for 25 yards, and Ethan Deeds (15) hauled in an eight-yard catch to finish out the 103 total yards.

Defensively, Perry tallied nine tackles, two sacks and recovered a fumble, while Ethridge and EJ Aviles (#5) also finished with nine tackles. Behrens recorded two sacks while Rush Norris (#3) and Jim Eckermann (#1) each had one sack.

Next week, Coyote Football has the night off as they return to the field October 11th, at Brookesmith, which is the District 15-A Division II opener for both teams.

The Lady Coyote CC Teams will compete in Hamilton, Wednesday, October 2nd, and the Lady Coyotes Volleyball Team will host Benjamin at home on Friday, October 4th, for a 4:30 p.m. game.
